What type of souces is an article from a website?

I am doing a Research paper In MLA format for the very first time and i am so lost. I picked a topic that doesn't have many books on it... well none at all to be honest. . I didn't know that before i chose it so now i'm screwed. However there are a few articles on it but i have come to find that some of the articles are reprinted from other places and i want to avoid plagiarism but when its time to cite the source on word 2007 i don't know which one to choose and i can't even get in contact with my professor. I was so desperate that i came here, does anybody know what type of sources it could possibility be? thanks a bunch.
