Question about buying something online?

ok here is the thing my friend who lives in colombia wants to purchase a cellphone, but the thing is that they only cell it online and they do not ship the phone to foreign countries. so my question is if he buys the cellphone from colombia with his information and puts my adress in the form so that the phone can be shipped to my house will that be illegal because he doesnt live there or would that be illegal at all? thanks in advance.
