What kind of gr is this?

I have some rapidly spreading gr in my yard, and it grows very thick. it seems to be in small tufts and has small purple flowers with it. it doesnt grow tall at all, but very thick like carpet. it actually makes footprints if you stand still too long. i dont know if it is even gr, or maybe some kind of invasive weed. i kind of like it however, because it is very thick and bright green, and i dont have to mow it hardly ever. it is spreading throughout my yard. it has been very dry this year, and it is growin rapidly, in the sun, in the shade, nothing seems to matter. i just want to figure out what it is, i might try to transplant it to other areas in my yard if it is actually gr. i have pictures available to send if someone could tell me what this stuff is.
