I've just installed NBA Live 08 on my laptop, and I can't seem to get it to run smoothly.?

I am sure that my system matches all the requirements of the game. I've also checked that my driver is updated. I've also tried ending background processes before playing the game. Also, I've tried to turn on V-sync and Triple Buffering in the game, and it still doesn't help. I'd like to mention also that I've installed the game on my previous laptop, which has a poorer graphic card and slower speed but still runs smoothly. So why does the game lag on my current laptop? I've even tried re-installing the game several times out of desperation. Can anybody help provide an answer to this problem?
